What is this?
The Pregnancy Week-by-Week Tracker calculates your current gestational age, estimated due date, and trimester from your last menstrual period, then provides baby size, weight, developmental milestones, and relevant tips for where you are in the pregnancy. How to use
Enter the first day of your last menstrual period and your average cycle length (default 28 days). The calculator determines your current week and day, adjusts your due date for your cycle length, and displays detailed developmental information for your current stage.Tips
- Due dates are estimates — only about 5% of babies arrive on the calculated date; full-term ranges from week 38 to 42.
- Start prenatal vitamins with folic acid (400–800 mcg) as early as possible, ideally before conception, to prevent neural tube defects.
- The first trimester scan (10–14 weeks) and anatomy scan (18–20 weeks) are the two critical ultrasound appointments; don't miss them.
- Eating small, frequent meals significantly reduces first trimester nausea compared to large, infrequent meals.
- After week 20, track fetal movements daily — 10 movements in 2 hours is a general reassurance benchmark.
- Pregnant women need 8–10 cups of water daily; dehydration is a common trigger for Braxton Hicks contractions.
- Sleep on your left side after week 20 to improve placental circulation and reduce pressure on major blood vessels.
- Pack your hospital bag by week 36 — preterm labor can start earlier than expected for about 10% of pregnancies.
