LAS VEGAS — Reigning UFC ‘BMF’ champion and lightweight contender Max Holloway speaks with MMA Fighting’s José Youngs about his love for anime, Demon Slayer, Assassination Classroom, Chainsaw Man, Naruto, Hajime no Ippo, The Devil is a Part-Timer!, and more.
Holloway (27-8) is slated to put his title on the line against Charles Oliveira in their highly anticipated rematch at UFC 326 in Las Vegas on Saturday. He previously defended his belt with a dominant decision win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 in July after winning the title with a violent knockout over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 in April 2024. Between these two victories, fans saw him fail to reclaim the featherweight title from Ilia Topuria at UFC 308 in October 2024.
To date, the man known as “Blessed” holds several notable UFC records, such as most significant strikes (3,655), total strikes (3,907), and most UFC featherweight wins (20), finishes (11), and victories (9).
