Zuffa Boxing isn’t pulling any punches with its push of Conor Benn.
On Thursday, Dana White’s newly minted boxing promotion announced that Benn (24-1) is set to fight former WBA and WBC champion Regis Prograis (30-3) in the co-main event of the Tyson Fury comeback card, which takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Fury faces Arslanbek Makhmudov in the headlining bout of the evening.
The event is being promoted by The Ring and is set to air live on Netflix.
Benn is coming off of a grudge rematch against Chris Eubank Jr. this past November, while the 37-year-old Prograis recently snapped a two-fight skid by winning a decision over Joseph Diaz in August. The contracted weight for the bout is 140 pounds, a slight jump up for Prograis.
The signing of Benn made headlines in both the boxing and MMA world as Benn parted ways with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing to sign a one-fight deal with White’s Zuffa Boxing reportedly worth $15 million. Several fighters, including Sean O’Malley and Demetrious Johnson, have debated why White would make such an extravagant move and the enormous pay discrepancy between Benn and the vast majority of the UFC roster.
