Jun Yong Park will have surgery to treat an injury that forced him to withdraw from a UFC Vegas 115 fight with Edmen Shahbazyan on April 4, multiple people with knowledge of the news confirmed to MMA Fighting.
It’s still unclear who will replace “The Iron Turtle” against “The Golden Boy” in the three-round clash at the Meta APEX. UFC Vegas 115 is topped by a lightweight showdown between Renato Moicano and Chris Duncan.
Park (19-7) was hoping to get back on track after losing a decision to Ikram Aliskerov in October, a result that snapped a winning streak over Brad Tavares and Ismail Naurdiev.
Shahbazyan (16-5), should he get a replacement, will have the chance to tie his longest streak in the UFC since his start in the promotion after beating Dylan Budka, Andre Petroski, and Andre Muniz for a perfect 3-0 run in 2025.
