Henry Cejudo and Urijah Faber | RAF This is the live blog for Henry Cejudo vs. Urijah Faber, the main event for RAF 6 on Saturday night at Mullet Arena in Tempe, Ariz. A former two-division champion in the UFC, Cejudo got his start in wrestling, winning a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics, and after retiring from MMA last year, “Triple C” is returning to his roots. 39 years old, Cejudo has not wrestled competitively since 2015, but boasts a significantly more impressive résumé than Faber. A former WEC champion and UFC Hall of Famer, Faber hails from a wrestling background, competing for UC-Davis during his college years before shifting his focus to MMA. Since stepping away from MMA in 2019, the 46-year-old Faber has stayed busy with several grappling bouts and now makes his RAF debut. Check out the Henry Cejudo vs. Urijah Faber live blog below: Period 1 This should not be competitive. Olympic gold medalist vs. solid college wrestler, who is pushing 50. Cejudo starts out from his knees, and man, he just looks like a wrestler compared to Faber. He lunges in for an inside trip, but Faber is equal to it defensively. Faber playing a lot of defense early, and he does look quite large. Now, we’re hand fighting, and the ref puts Faber on the shot clock. Faber staying sound defensively, and working a crack down. But Cejudo breaks, and then gets to the shot, and there’s the takedown! Cejudo working up to the body, looking for the exposure, but Faber does a good job flattening out, forcing the stall. Cejudo gets 2 for the takedown, and 1 for the shot clock. 3-0. Restart and Cejudo dives on a low single and he’s about to finish it, but time expires, saving Faber from the points. Oh, nevermind! They check it and get gets the 2 points! 5-0 for Cejudo. Period 2 Hand fighting to start as Faber tries to play big man game up top, but Cejudo hits a nasty single dive and finishes the takedown! Faber tries to scramble but Cejudo has the leverage and he’s going to get back exposure. But Faber gets to his belly, forcing the stall. And they didn’t give Cejudo back points, so only 7-0 for Cejudo. OH! Off a tie-up and Faber his an outside trip! Cejudo almost bails out to give up the takedown, but turns in and manages to hold on and stall the position out until the whistle. 7-0 Cejudo at the end of the 2nd.
