Weighted GPA adds bonus points for AP/Honors classes (AP +1.0, Honors +0.5), so an A in AP Calculus = 5.0 vs 4.0 in regular classes. Unweighted treats all classes equally (A = 4.0). Colleges usually recalculate GPAs on their own scale.
