FAQ
How far should furniture be from walls?
Living room: Float furniture 12-18 inches from walls to create conversational groupings. Bedroom: Bed 2-3 inches from wall (or flush for space saving), nightstands 2-3 inches from bed. Leave 30-36 inches for walkways, 18 inches minimum for traffic paths.
What size rug for my living room?
All furniture front legs should sit on rug (preferred) OR have 18-24 inches of floor showing around rug perimeter. 8x10 rug works for most living rooms, 9x12 for larger spaces. Too small: use 5x7 as accent under coffee table only.
How far should a couch be from the TV?
Viewing distance = TV size (inches) × 1.5 to 2.5. For 55" TV: 6.9-11.5 feet away. For 65" TV: 8-13.5 feet. Too close strains eyes, too far loses detail. Angle seating toward TV (not perfectly straight) for comfortable viewing without neck strain.
